The DOs & DON’Ts of Foursquare

With geo-location social networking picking up, Foursquare should be one of those apps you run upon entering a store! You get to tell your friends where you are and there are badges that you can earn as well. If you find that you need some privacy for a venue or two, you can choose not to share your check-in. Now, does it sound attractive? Check out some rules/guidelines that we’re highlighting to will bring the community to another level! Dos:

  1. Check-in fairly. It’s recommended that you only check in anywhere you intend to hang around for more than 10 minutes.
  2. Share the promotions with your friends! You don’t want to be the only one that’s enjoying it, right? Share the tips with friends on Facebook, Twitter and real life! When more friends enjoy, the merchant would offer better promos soon!
  3. Leave a tip. In 200 characters, tell us what’s good at the venue or what to take note of. (Oh, and the bads as well)
  4. Edit inaccurate listings. This feature is available on the iPhone and anyone can start editing any locations for submission. Did you know – Foursquare venues are edited mostly by committed users?
